Alice nodded. “Three,” she said. He said two and they said one together and on the upswing both jumped. The impact was hard on their legs but they immediately started arguing about who went further.
”I did, see.”
Alice shrugged. "It's pretty though, and warm," she said to him. "It looks great for building a fort too," she said to him. "Can we stay here?" she asked him.
The place seemed pretty but it worked on an accelerated rate and masked them from being tracked. They didn't know that their adventure would go from running away to be together to becoming teenagers in the time it took for Seth's parents to find them.
The enchantment of the place made time move more accelerated in the grove leaving the 7 year olds to spend years together in just hours outside of it. The food making them forget about anything outside of it, including their dog Venice.
"Look at this place," she said as he got through. It was a spring wonderland. the place started as a field and expanded out as a forest. It was filled with things they could forage, and creatures they could eat.
It was almost like it was intended for them to cross into. She didn't understand or care why it was so warm. "We found the perfect place," she said to him. "We can build our fort," she added not realizing that Venice was still outside.
