Seth exclaimed a protest when Alice was dumped roughly to the floor, but it went unheeded. He quickly knelt to check on her, feeling for her pulse before gathering her in his arms. Bearing her weight hurt a little, his back and torso bruised through to the bone from being tossed around.
He just set his jaw and followed the blood doll out without looking back. Soon Seth was all but being pushed out the door, left standing on the stoop and blinking rapidly as his eyes adjusted to light for the first time in days.
Once he could see again he shifted Alice in his arms. Neither of their vehicles were in sight. He didn't have his phone anymore. He sure as hell wasn't about to turn around and knock on Liz's door to ask for one.
With a sigh he did the only thing he could and started walking.
