Alice and her family, aka Damian and Derek as her parents had died a few years prior, had taken up residence in a werewolf camp for the night. They knew it was dangerous but they had been doing it for every full moon for 3 years. Alice had just turned eighteen and tonight was supposed to be a hell of a full moon, unfortunately it would be hell on earth as a rowdy pack of werewolves came in.

The noise from them was nearly thunderous as they went out and started to strip down for the full moon to go out. The three Gregory's would look to their werewolf friends. "Stay safe tonight."

There were deterrents setup for the Gregory's themselves so they figured they would be safe. Unfortunately, they would end up chased into the woods. Their friends would find them. Derek dead, Damian bitten and Alice simply covered in blood.

That full moon was supposed to be the start of a great weekend for the makeshift pack of werewolves the Redford family roamed with. It was a rare time when the holiday coincided both with a blood moon and a weekend to hold the fire festival - good food, a little too much drinking and a chance for the wolves to mingle and play out in the wilderness. A break from the confines of the city that they all needed.

Unfortunately none of that would come to pass.

The poachers that attacked the pack had made their plans well in advance. They figured out a way to scatter the wolves, force them apart and into choke points while simultaneously dealing with the rangers that patrolled the park by herding them into the jaws of the pack - the intent had been to kill them off without leaving any evidence that could be traced back to them.

After a point everything had dissolved into chaos.

Red's fur was matted and slicked with blood, both his and not, when he came to the next morning. A growling sort of groan escaped the wolf's throat as he shifted, disoriented and in pain. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to remember how he'd gotten where he was and what the hell had happened - there was a brief few moments of confusion before an abrupt panic set in.

He leaped up, staggering when his left shoulder nearly went out on him. Red cast about frantically, vision blurry like he was coming to from a blackout drunk, "Violet!" he called out - it would sound like a brief howl to the two surviving members of the Gregory family just over the hill. He called for each of his family in turn, the panic building when there was no immediate response from any of them.

Scattered recollections from the previous night started to flicker back to mind. He remembered being in a fight with another male, gunshots - being shot - and a lot of screaming.

As he looked around Red noticed the traces of a blood trail. The wolf took off along it at a limping lope, back tracking in the hope it would lead him to his wife or sons - they had to be nearby. But it would be Alice and Damian that he found first, abruptly bursting out of the brush nearly on top of the pair. It startled the wolf likely as much as it did them and Red snarled as he came skidding to a halt and then scrambled back away from them, sides heaving. It happened so quickly that he didn't immediately recognize the Gregory kids.

Alice was crying and shaking. She was so upset. She was scared, the night had been awful. The poachers had killed a lot of people and wolves but most of them ended up dead themselves. She looked up to the shuddering bush just in time to see the large wolf jump out at her. She screamed, startled by the large creature and the snarl of it as he pushed himself back.

She wasn't sure if it was a werewolf or a real wolf just following the blood trail. "Please," she shook her head. She couldn't fight or run anymore. She pulled her living brother closer to her as she hugged her arms around him. "Please don't. We would never hurt you," she muttered to him. "Please," she begged.

Red panted from both pain and the shock of abruptly bursting upon the pair. It took a few moments before the wolf registered who it was in front of him. His snarl tapered off as he watched Alice curl in around her brother, and Red took a pace back to give them more distance.

The sight and state of them didn't do anything to ease the wolf's agitation.

He had no way to communicate with her in his current form. Red growled softly, the sound not intended for either of them so much as just an expression of fear and concern for his missing family. It was obvious Alice and her brother needed help but worry for his wife and sons had him torn and for the first thirty seconds or so the wolf shifted in place, uncertain whether to stay and help or brush by and continue his search.

As the moments ticked by, the wolf didn't get any closer but she still held her unconscious brother closer to her. Not sure what to do. She couldn't drag him out herself and she wasn't even sure where she was to even start to get back. Their camping gear had been abandoned when they were flushed into the woods with the wolves.

It was as those moments ticked by that another howl sounded off that was his name. "Red?" Violet called, obviously disoriented herself but she had Seth and Richie with her so she just needed to find her husband.

His indecision dissolved as soon as he heard Violet in the distance. Red bolted past Alice and her brother, determining to come back for them after he'd found his family. He was out of their sight as quickly as he'd appeared as he headed off in search of his wife.

When he would find her she would be nosing Seth and Richie awake. She wanted to be sure they were alright, they were all covered in spatterings of blood and some of them injuries. When Red came over she limped over to him. "They are alive. Just need to wake them up and get out of here."
