"Anything for family," Cynthia said as she smiled up to him.

"We're going to get out of your hair," Violet said. "We'll text you soon. He didn't get much sleep last night and probably wants to go home and to his wife," she explained and gave Cynthia a hug before they headed out.

“It’s going to be okay. Your father and I won’t let anything happen to you three,” she advised him.

Meanwhile, strange shit was happening at the house. It started with a knock on the door and no one was there before it was taunting and trying to get Alice out. Banging on the walls and windows.

Red was beginning to fume silently as the harassment continued. When Violet and Seth left they'd spent the following half hour or so getting Harper unstuck from Alice and settled in front of her show. It hadn't been too long after that the knock on the door came... and then the escalation had started.

He'd made a few attempts to see who was out there, but even though he could hear the banging and the taunting he couldn't see a god damn thing. That was almost solely what kept him inside where he could keep an eye on the girls, settling for drawing the curtains and making sure all the doors and windows were locked. But that felt like doing nothing, and of course that rankled at the wolf.

"Wish we were at the ranch right about now," he muttered as he leaned in the entrance to the sitting room, "enough room out there to just pepper the pricks with buckshot."

As the banging started Harper came and restock herself to Alice, so much for getting any sleep.

“What the hell is going on? How do they know where am? Who are they?” She asked Red not sure he had an answer but on the verge of going outside and screaming at them to stop.

Red pushed a breath through his nose, gaze shifting to Harper who was curled in Alice's lap again with her face tucked into the woman's neck, "Orc that's been hanging around the shop must be related to the rest of what's gone on," he muttered, unwilling to go into specifics with his granddaughter already afraid, "just sit tight for now. We gotta look after the little one first. Both of them," Red emphasized.

Alice curled into Harper wanting to still go outside and tell these bastards to fuck off but listening to Red in the moment. The pounding and taunting continued until a few moments before Seth and Violet returned and then it just stopped.

Red heard the familiar sound of the engine - he knew that car. He'd restored it for Violet as a gift when they were young - a manual project he'd taken on alone, even though he could have written a check to purchase the same model in near perfect condition.

The noise stopped so swiftly it almost became uncomfortably silent.

"Wait here," Red ordered Alice as he went to the door - when Violet started to push it open Red braced his shoulder against it. He let it open just enough for his wife to squeeze through then dragged Seth in behind her before shoving it closed again.

VIolet gave Red a look, not exactly sure why he bracing against the door but once they were inside she looked to Red. "We need to talk," she said to him glancing to Seth to see if he wanted to join them or go to his wife.

"Yeah, no shit," Red scowled briefly, his frustration breaking through though it wasn't directed at Violet so much as an overflow of frustration from the recent events.

At that point Seth skirted back to get back to Alice and Harper.
