Alice (Young)

Wrong Man

Recommended Posts

Alice, Dixon and Seth had all grown up together. Dixon had asked Alice out in high school and they basically hit it off... basically. Unfortunately they didn't realize that the only reason they never actually split up in high school was due to the other guy that had feelings for Alice, both of their best friend, Seth Redford.

So, when he arrived at the airport, despite trying to be calm she literally ran up to Seth and jumped on him, forcing him to drop anything in his arms so she could hug him basically like a monkey. "You've been gone too long," she said to him squeezing him as Dixon stood back for a moment.

Seth had always sort of hoped that time away would dull things down for him. As long as it had been he'd almost started to think it was working. It'd been a couple of years since he'd even come back for the holidays, much to his mother's disappointment - which would have been far worse if she ever learned that, for the most part, his varying excuses were a load of shit.

And then that god damn wedding invitation had turned up in the mail and he'd immediately realized that he wasn't over shit.

As much as he desperately wanted to Seth hadn't been able to come up with any kind of excuse to avoid it, and even if he'd thought of one it wasn't like he could have made himself turn down Dixon's request that he be the best man. Fuck him.

When he got out to the front of the terminal Dixon and Alice saw him first. Seth didn't even have time to set his bag down before she'd flung herself at him - he dropped it and reflexively caught her in an embrace, "Hey Ally," he grinned, "I've missed you guys."

Alice only squeezed him tighter for a moment before she jumped down. "We've missed you too. Fuck. You've been gone for far too long," she said as she moved to reach out and grab Dixon's hand. She nodded her way toward where they were walking to get to the car in the terminal parking lot.

"How've you been asshole? You're terrible at replying to texts by the way."

"Not really. Everything's pretty much been work and trying to get through senior year," Seth shrugged, "that thing about picking two out of decent grades, enough sleep and a social life is no fucking joke," he chuckled.

"I bet you still manage to get out into shit," Dixon snorted, wrapping his arms around Alice from behind and pulling her back, "don't believe for a second you don't use that top athlete status to get laid any chance you can, dirt bag."

Alice laughed leaning her back into Dixon and running her fingertips over his arms that were wrapped around her as they slowed to walk more like a penguin together in unison. "Unless you aged like fifty years in the last five..." she added on.
